This will be the 18th year in a row the Marion Women’s Business Council has chosen a woman of distinction to receive its annual ATHENA sculpture. The prestigious sculpture will be presented on Monday, March 9, 2015 to one of seven nominees from the Marion area whom have been noted to excel in leadership and encouragement as well as participate in community service.
The program is slated to start with social time at 11:00 a.m. in the Harding Room in TRECA.
This year’s nominees include Winnie Brewer, Jody Demo-Hodgins, Tami Galloway, Heidi Jones, Quiana Revere, Pam Stone, Lynn Zucker.
The luncheon event will showcase the nominees as well as inspirational insight by ATHENA International’s Jan McDermott. Her topic will exemplify many of the values the ATHENA leadership model is based upon: The Authentic Self, Relationships, Giving Back, Collaboration, Courageous Acts, Learning, Fierce Advocacy, Celebration and Joy.
There will be a special silent auction held, with the proceeds going to the ATHENA recipient’s charity of choice. Modern Woodman agrees again to match the funds raised.
