Gus Comstock, Director of Marion CAN DO!, will be the featured speaker at the Marion Women’s Business Council luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016. Those attending will hear the results of an in-depth study on what makes Marion unique and the plans to market those qualities through a duel-pronged program.
Marion as a Workforce Development Capital will be CAN DO!’s focus to outside business interests, and a coordinating effort titled “MarionMade!” is designed to highlight Marion’s positive aspects to our local community and why Marion has so much to be proud of.
Comstock is director of Marion CAN DO! CAN DO! is the Greater Marion Community Area New Development Organization and is the county’s Local Economic Development Organization for the eleven county Columbus2020 central Ohio economic development region. Previously, Comstock held similar positions with the cities of Chillicothe and Delaware, and Delaware County.
Comstock will be joined by Denny Ferguson and Lisa Mendoza. Ferguson has been the executive assistant for Marion CAN DO! since 2008. He is a former educator and technology coordinator, as well as an ordained minister with Christian International Global Network and has done missionary work in several nations. Ferguson has been a part of the Marion community since 1995. Mendoza is an independent reputation management and social media specialist. A Marion resident, she has been under contract with Marion CAN DO! since 2015.

Lunch events are held at META Solutions (formerly TRECA), 100 Executive Drive, Marion, with a price of $13 per lunch. Guests are welcome with an RSVP.
The Marion Women’s Business Council’s mission is to inspire women to reach their full potential through mentoring, networking, education, and recognition. WBC luncheons are held the second Monday of each month, September through May. Anyone interested in joining may download a membership application.
