The Basics of Self Defense was very well received last year, so the requests for more will be honored with The Basics – 2.0 as the topic for the Marion Women’s Business Council’s January program.
Set for Monday, January 8, 11:30 a.m., Greg Perry will highlight what busy women can do every day to help ensure their personal safety, along with steps to take if you find yourself in a dangerous situation.
Perry is the Director of Law & Criminal Justice at the Marion Technical College where he currently oversees and teaches college courses in the legal and criminal justice program, as well as acts as commander of the Marion Law Enforcement Academy. He is also the owner and primary instructor at GAPerry Training Co., LLC, which provides firearms and deadly force training to law enforcement agencies and civilians. Prior to entering the academic world, Perry served 20 years in law enforcement, including 17 years as a criminal prosecutor and three years as a detective and deputy sheriff. Still a fully sworn reserve deputy, Perry carries an impressive resume of certifications and associations.
Reservations for this event must be received by Wednesday, January 3. They can be made by sending an email to mrn.wbc@gmail.com or by calling Sherry Goodman, Membership Co-Chair, at 740-751-6950.
All 2017-2018 luncheon events will held in the Guthery Room at Maynard Hall on the Ohio State University at Marion campus, with a price of $13 per lunch with the exception of the March Athena award presentation. Guests are always welcome with an RSVP.
